Injection moulding

Our core discipline. Production on 100 to 600 tonne presses, held to drawing run after run.

01 / Overview

From small precision parts to large structural mouldings.

We run Billion and Haitian presses from 100 to 600 tonnes, with robot arms and conveyors, for parts from 1 gram up to 4 kilograms. Tolerances stay tight and the finish stays consistent from the first batch to the last.

We mould polycarbonate, polypropylene, polystyrene, ABS and nylon. We are known for high quality clear parts. Bring us a new part, or move an existing tool to Ertone and we will get it back into production.

02 / Inside the tool

How a part is made.

Section through an injection mould tool. Molten plastic fills the closed tool and cools, then the moving half opens and ejector pins push the finished part out. EJECTOR PINS MOVING HALF FINISHED PART FIXED HALF INJECTION UNIT MELT
  1. 01

    Inject

Molten plastic is forced into the closed tool under high pressure.

  2. 02

    Cool

The plastic sets in the cavity and takes the exact shape of the tool.

  3. 03

    Open

The moving half pulls back, taking the part with it on the core.

  4. 04

    Eject

Ejector pins push the finished part off, and the tool closes for the next one.

05 / Questions

Frequently asked questions.

01

What presses do you run?

Billion and Haitian presses from 100 to 600 tonnes, fitted with robot arms and conveyors.

02

What size components can you produce?

Parts from 1 gram up to 4 kilograms. That covers small precision components through to large structural mouldings.

03

Can you mould clear parts?

Yes. High quality clear parts are one of our strengths. Tell us the finish you need and an engineer will advise on material and tooling.

04

What volumes can you run?

Anything from short runs to high volume repeat production, held to the same drawing every time.
